Spending My Retirement In A Game

Chapter 302 - Progress

"Well, what do you expect? I put all of my effort into it!" Eisen explained as he slowly deactivated his Demonic transformation and looked at the half-dragon in front of him.

"So, how about you do this old man a favor and show me what you can do with this beauty?" As Eisen suggested this, he quickly crossed his arms and looked at the others next to him, hoping for some kind of volunteer, and the one that the old man figured to be the first to step forward was none other than Brody, who couldn’t help but just smile as he looked at the weapon.

"A-Are you sure?" Kiron asked surprised, and Brody immediately nodded his head in response. "Of course! Don’t worry, this won’t be a proper fight, I think we’re all just curious about whether or not you can actually swing something like that around." The Demon-Orc pointed out, before Kiron couldn’t help but just nod his head nervously.

"Right... Alright, then.. should we just start it here?" Kiron suggested, and Brody nodded as he stepped over to an open area, apparently just wanting to fight bare-handed.

"Oh, Kiron, just a moment! I have something else for you." Eisen exclaimed, and Kiron looked at him surprised while Caria and Melissa brought forward the Vest, Pants and Belt. "How about you wear these for this one?" The old man suggested as he swiftly created a small wall with his element that Kiron could quickly change behind of, and the half-dragon nodded his head and swiftly put the clothes on, although he still needed a little help with the vest. He wasn’t used to wearing something like this, so it was hard to get his wings through right off the bat.

But then, Kiron was ready for the fight, stepping up toward where Brody was waiting nervously. "Alright... Let’s start..." Kiron then said with a smile, before the Demon-Orc in front of him just nodded and got into the right stance while Kiron himself also started preparing.

He tightened his grip around the main handle of the sword as he held the giant mass of metal in front of himself and began to let his mana flow through not only the handle but all of the enchantments on the blade while the mythril helped carry the mana to every single part of it.

And soon enough, the blade was surrounded by an ever so slight glow, before something else happened as well. The glow that had been surrounding the blade changed its shape and slowly began to act like flames. Slightly white, translucent flames which Eisen had seen once before.

"Alright, this is going to be interesting..." Eisen muttered to himself as he looked over toward Brody. "You sure you don’t want to use a weapon?" The old man asked with a laugh, while Brody scratched the back of his neck and nodded his head.

"Fair point... Can I borrow the Zweihänder? A Sword versus Sword fight seems a lot more fun anyway." Brody replied with a laugh, while Eisen just nodded his head and swiftly went to get the blade from his workshop, and then handed it to the Demon-Orc Halfling.

"Here you go." Eisen told him with a smile as Brody took the blade into his hands and swung it around a little bit. "Let’s get this show started, huh?" Brody suggested with a laugh, while Kiron just nodded his head. And nearly immediately, the two of them jumped forward toward each other, and when the two blades made contact for the first time, the fight was already over.

It happened so quickly that Eisen had no idea what had actually happened, but he could tell when he heard the sound of half of the Zweihänder’s blade hitting the ground.

"What... just happened..." Stahl asked confused, not able to help himself but to react that way. With a clean cut, something that they hadn’t even noticed, the Zweihänder was cut in two, while the rest of the sword that was still in Brody’s hand began to burn in the crystal flames, although Kiron seemed to have enough control over them now to make them disappear immediately.

"Progress. That’s what happened." Eisen said with a smile on his face, completely incomparable to the smile that he usually wore. This one was the most genuine, ecstatic, and child-like smile that any of the group had seen from Eisen so far.

And that smile had a simple reason. Over his whole life, Eisen had learned so many different things and attempted to bring them to the highest level that he could. Toward the later part of his life, the old man noticed one thing. He was unable to push his creations any further. He used any material that he could get his hands on, and made things that most craftsmen would see as the peak on the daily. But that was where it stopped.

No matter what he did, Eisen couldn’t continue to bring the things he made beyond a certain quality. But now, he did. The Zweihänder was one of the first items that Eisen made in this game, and could be seen as a good point of referece for his ability in real life. It wasn’t at the level of the best items that he made then, but it was close enough.

And now, the Greatsword that Kiron was holding was something on his current level. In the first place, creating such huge items wasn’t something easy to do in any situation, but due to the old man’s size-increase ability, it wasn’t much different to creating a regular longsword.

He was able to use a material that was impossible to acquire in the real world, and used techniques that Eisen would have just dreamt of at any other time. But by putting all of those new things together, Eisen’s progress wasn’t locked anymore. He could continue experiencing new things and new materials and grow to a level far beyond what he could have achieved before playing this game.

So of course Eisen had an utterly ecstatic smile on his face, how couldn’t he?

And it seems like Eisen wasn’t the only one that was happy about this. Both Kiron and Brody were incredibly happy at the moment. Kiron’s reaction was understandable, he managed to acquire such an amazing weapon. But Brody’s reaction was rather unexpected.

"What the hell is Brody so happy about? Didn’t he just lose?" Samurai asked, rather confused about what was going on, but Stahl, who had learned under Brody, shook his head immediately.

"He didn’t lose... His weapon lost, but not him... If he had wanted to, he could have probably killed Kiron in an instant. But it wasn’t a fight in the first place, so I’m pretty sure he wanted to properly give Kiron a chance to test the weapon and then went for a straight-on encounter. And then it showed just how insane such a weapon is." The young man pointed out, and his suggestion was immediately supported by the person that knew Brody the best.

"Probably that’s what happened." Vardia said with a light smile on her face. "Otherwise he would never be happy like that, you know?" She explained and then slowly made her way over to her husband, while Eisen looked over toward the others that were currently there, more specifically Komer, Stahl and Xenia.

"Did you guys finish the Light-Element collector?" He asked, and Xenia nodded her head before she pointed at a few solar-panel-like plates by the side of the main-deck.

"Mhm, we did. Most of them are at the top of the Meeting Room, but we wanted to show them to you as well." She explained with a smile, before Eisen nodded his head and activated his Truth-Seeing eyes as he stepped closer to the panels, seeing that there really was a bit of light-elemental mana inside of them already.

"Interesting... How much is the collection rate?" The old man asked, and Komer scratched the back of his neck.

"Erm... 1000 MP worth per hour per unit? It’s hard to put a value like that on elemental mana, right?" The merchant pointed out and Xenia nodded her head. "Yeah, but that’s roughly the number. Anyway, if you want to, we could probably start on the metal infusion now. Or at least attempt it." The High-Elf suggested, and Eisen nodded his head with a smile.

"Alright, let’s do that. I’ll bring the infusion-setup to the meeting room. The Mana Batteries are up there already, right?" The old man asked, and they all swiftly nodded their head.

"Good. We need at least low-grade Margon... I hope we have enough mana for that." Eisen said with a sigh as he made his way over to the stairs and walked over to the place where the carriage was stored, quickly grabbing the parts of the infusion-setup that were needed right now and then went back to the workshop and grabbed the maroon he had there, including the scales that he put on CF-1 before.

After the old man gathered all of these things together, he made his way back to the Main deck, where most of the people had split up again, and only Kiron was really left there, looking at the giant blade with a smile, while the cut-up Zweihänder was laying next to him.

"O-Oh, Grandfather!" Kiron exclaimed as he saw the old man approach him, before Eisen replied with a smile. "Seems as if you like it, don’t you?" He asked, and the Half-Dragon couldn’t help but nod immediately.

"Yes! Yes I do! I really, really do! It’s such a magnificent weapon! The one that I had before my strength was lost cannot even compare to this one, and it is only at Rank 4..." Kiron explained, and Eisen nodded his head with a smile on his face.

"I see, that’s nice to know. And how are the clothes? I hope they’re not too uncomfortable." Eisen asked, but Kiron just shook his head. "Oh, oh no! They’re not uncomfortable in the slightest! It has been a while since I wore anything on my chest, so I at first thought that it might be weird at first, but the vest feels as if I had worn it for years already!" He explained, so Eisen simply chuckled quietly.

"I’m glad to hear that. And really, thanks for letting me make something like that for you. I’ll be in the Meeting Room now. If you want to see if we can really turn the Maroon into Margon, you’re free to come with me." Eisen suggested, before Kiron nodded his head and stood up, holding the Greatsword by the central handle with only one hand, while he picked up the pieces of the Zweihänder with his other one, and Eisen couldn’t help but ask about this.

"Actually, how can you handle such a weapon so easily?" He asked curiously, and Kiron just shrugged lightly.

"My swordsmanship skill is acutally a derivative. When I brought it to Rank 5 in the past, it turned into ’Greatswordsmanship’. Most of my skills were reset when my strength was stolen, but at the very least my derivative skills didn’t return to their regular form." He explained, so Eisen slowly nodded his head.

"Interesting." He replied as the two of them slowly made their way up the stairs of the ship, into the Meeting room where they would now be casually creating a truly legendary metal.
